Safe Kids Eastern Carolina

Safe Kids Eastern Carolina is a North Carolina Safe Kids Coalition serving the counties of Lenoir, Jones and Greene. Safe Kids Eastern Carolina is housed at The Partnership for Children of Lenoir and Greene Counties. Our areas of focus primarily are poison prevention and control, child passenger safety, and bicycle safety.

Eligibility criteria for car seat distribution:

• Must bring proof of Medicaid or WIC
• Must bring $40 copay
• Child must be present
• If mother is expecting, appointment cannot be scheduled before 36 weeks
• Must be a resident of Greene, Jones, or Lenoir counties

Diversion Program

Have you received a ticket for a violation of the North Carolina Child Passenger Safety Law (G.S.20-137.1)? 

The NC Child Passenger Safety Diversion Program is an optional program that allows you to have your child passenger safety ticket dismissed if you complete a 1-hour online class and receive in-person instruction on how to use your car seat or booster seat. It can only be completed one time. If you have already been through the program or if you do not want to participate in the program you should follow the instructions on your ticket.

Instructions on how to complete the program will be sent to the email address you provide.
